The Almighty God is awesome he gave me the scripture in Jeremiah 33:6 many years ago when i was overwhelmed by the needs of people we were serving in our community and yet we were also very needy. We could go days without food, no good clothing and no house to live in for a number of different times!!
used to feel and hear this assurance that God will eventually bring health and healing to us if we continued to trust Him. He has given us the grace to share the little we had with many people that needed help.
When I was pregnant with my second child the season was very trying, on many occasions the only food we could get was the very small sugar cane that kids used to get for us from an abandoned garden where everyone was searching daily for any cane that could be at least three joints long. On the day I delivered my baby, God did a miracle for us. We had no single coin in the house to neither take me to hospital nor buy the supplies that I needed as a mother.
I never went to hospital for antenatal visits but when I reached full term I thought a friend’s wife who was midwife would help me deliver but the day I delivered was the day I had planned to pay her a visit and make my request. It was a Saturday and the previous Friday night we had an all night prayer service in our home where we had the church shelter. I attended till morning for I couldn’t sleep because I was very hungry and the baby was kicking a lot in my stomach. Being a medical person I used to get worried but prayed in 1Timothy 2:15.
That night I prayed to God to help me and my baby quoting that very scripture as usual. Amazingly in the morning I felt so strong and went to my garden to weed my crops after taking a cup of hot water. My garden was near the house we lived then, a friend came with a basket with a cluster of matooke and some vegetables. I had to come home immediately and prepare the food. Inside I was having the feeling that I was going to deliver anytime.
So I prepared the bed and instruments too. After eating I took a nap and fell into a deep sleep. John my husband had gone out to the next village for a gospel crusade. And Margret my young sister took my daughter Cathy who was 11 months then with her to visit the midwife expecting me to join them later when I woke up as I had planned. They all left me in the deep sleep not wanting to bother me.
When I woke up sitting up I felt the pressure down as the baby was coming out but without pain!! I got so confused and scared I called for help and there was no one in the house. I rushed to my prepared bed and soon I felt another pressure that pushed the baby out. Praise God I was able to suck out the mucus, cut the cord, finish the whole process and cleaned up. The baby was very hungry when I delivered because the stomach was sunken wanted to suck on the breast soon after delivery.
When everybody came back home they found me with my baby Andrew. The midwife was called later to make sure I was okay and repair the small tears I sustained. What a miracle! We had no money for the hospital no nothing! He saved us from the embarrassment as His servants. Such miracles in our lives have always reminded us of God’s faithfulness and we remain focused
There is “RAY OF HOPE”
After many years crying to God wondering when and how He was going to appear he directed our paths just like King David in Psalms 40:1-3 prayed
God heard and stretched his hand to bring us up from the horrible pit and out of the miry clay. He set our feet on the rock and established our steps. He has given us friends in His purpose. I met with Terri in a wonderful way and ever since God has given us the grace to serve him together Terri has been our liaison in the USA. God is using her to find sponsors for the children education and funds to enable us build the medical center. She also coordinates teams for medical, evangelism, women and church leaders’ conferences
