Edward Damba's Testimony

Born on July 2 1987
(Edward was adopted by John and Monique as one in the 1996 when he was 10 years old he lost his father when he was only 9 years in Primary one in 1995. He lived with his mother next to Mubirus’ home and was a playmate with their only son Andrew.
Andrew loved cars and Edward knew how to make toy cars from wires, old slippers and many other toys from used containers. He used to attend church with Andrew. Every day early in the morning, Edward would come to help Andrew with his chores so that they would have enough time to play with their cars.
It turned out that they couldn’t part for a single moment so he would stealthily sleep in the house without their knowledge, Andrew’s siblings and one of the other members in the family knew about the children’s move. One day Andrew and his siblings young as they were sent Phoebe who was then four years then to come and ask their parents to adopt Edward as their brother.
The parents tried to tell her we love Edward and regard him as a nice boy but she insisted that they want him to be a real brother. The parents requested that they give their answer the next day hoping the children will forget about the matter.
Early the next morning Phoebe knocked at the door demanding for the answer as promised. Without discussing the matter the parents just told her it was okay he is now your brother.
She ran very excited to break the news to her siblings. Edward went to his mother who was then sick and bedridden that he had found new parents and assured her that when she dies he will be in good hands. Edward’s mother called Monique and told her what Edward had told her in tears of both pain and joy she said “I can now rest in peace knowing you will care for my son and that nobody should take away Edward from us when she dies.”
Few months later she died. Edward continued school with the help of school fees sponsorship from a very nice lady from Indiana. In the year July 2008 he graduated from vocational school with a certificate in electronic engineering. Edward is in charge of Church electronics at Christ centered. He works as a supervisor in the Ray of Hope children’s sponsorship program. His duties are to ensure children don’t miss classes checking on their performance at school and the situation in their homes and relative duties.
